LEGO Education SPIKE Prime is the tool that allows students between the ages of 12 and 14
learn to program with STEAM. SPIKE Prime is a combination of LEGO building elements,
user-friendly hardware and an intuitive programming language based on Scratch. SPIKE Prime equips students with the essential 21st century skills that will help them grow into innovative minds.
The programmable brick features 6 input/output ports, a 5x5 light matrix, Bluetooth connectivity, a speaker, a 6-axis gyro, and a rechargeable battery. The SPIKE Prime Set also includes highly precise motors and sensors that, when combined with a variety of colorful LEGO building elements, allow students to design and build fun robots, dynamic devices, and other interactive models. With multiple connection points on the Hub, motors, sensors, and new, large building elements, students can spend less time building and more time learning. The sturdy storage box and 2 sorting trays also help keep lesson setup and cleanup time to a minimum, while the smaller trays are ideal when desk space is limited.
In addition to getting started materials, the LEGO Education SPIKE app includes four curriculum-aligned STEAM lesson modules focused on engineering and computer science. These modules are specifically designed for students aged 12-14.
